Maximise Your Motivation

Glenorchy Health and Fitness Be Better than Yesterday

We’re sure you’ve all had at least one of those days where you just REALLY can’t be bothered going to the gym or cook a healthy meal- we certainly have! It’s completely normal to have an off day every now and again, but it’s when an off day turns into an off week, an off month or even longer that it becomes an issue!

Here are some of our top ways to keep on track:

  1. Plan your week: Put aside 5 minutes at the start of your week to plan your workouts for the week. Schedule them into your diary and make them a priority- they’re just important as any of your other appointments!
  2. Phone a friend: There’s nothing more motivating than having a friend counting on you to join them at the gym! You’re much less likely to skip the sweat session if you know that you’ll let down your friend by doing so. If you don’t already have a gym buddy, ask us about our ambassador program so that you can get one (and some cheeky bonuses for yourself!)
  3. Outsource motivation: Booking in for a PT or Metafit turns your workout into a non-negotiable. As well as motivation to turn up, your trainer will also push you to get the best out of you even when you’re not feeling it! Knowing that you’ve made a financial commitment to your PT also makes you less likely to just not show up- you don’t want to waste your money! Metafit is a great way to get the same commitment from yourself without having to pay extra.
  4. Set goals and reward yourself: Everyone knows it’s super important to set goals, but it’s also super important to reward yourself! Maybe you’ll be motivated by the promise of a new pair of tights from Lorna Jane, a trip to the movies or even just a high-five when you smash your workout! Whatever it is, choose something that will make reaching that goal even sweeter. You deserve it!
